Frequently Asked Questions

I am in-network with Blue Cross and Blue Shield. For BCBS clients, I will file claims following sessions. I suggest reaching out to your insurance company to inquire about coverage for mental health benefits. You will be responsible for fees not covered by insurance as dictated by your insurance plan (copayments, co-insurance, deductibles).
For clients who wish to use out of network benefits, I can provide a superbill (like a receipt) to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. You will be responsible for payment at time of service.

Individual sessions (including initial session) are $140 for self-pay and out-of-network clients. I can provide a superbill (like a receipt) for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement. I recommend checking with your insurance company to confirm mental health benefits.
Therapy is a worthy investment. Whether you are looking for short-term symptom relief or a long-term partner in mental health, you deserve a space just for you.

You’re probably here because something in your life feels stuck, or even unbearable, and you’re ready for a change. Or maybe you need an unbiased person to validate your experience and help you sort through thoughts and feelings. Maybe you’ve gone through a life event that has shifted your circumstances and identity to the point that you don’t recognize yourself or your life.
Some people seek therapy to alleviate acute mood symptoms. Others seek long-term therapeutic support as life ebbs and flows. These are all valid, worthwhile reasons to seek therapy. Reach out for a consultation and we can discuss how to get you the support you need to reach your goals.

I encourage you to book a complimentary 15-minute consultation so we can determine if we’re a good fit. If not, I am happy to help with referrals as there are many wonderful therapists in the area.
In our initial full-length session, I’ll get to know you and what brings you to therapy. The primary factor in whether therapy is effective or not is the therapeutic relationship between therapist and client, so it’s well worth taking the time to build! I’ll make sure we’re on the same page about practice policies and expectations of the therapeutic process, and we’ll work together to determine frequency of sessions and goals.
-
Over the first few sessions, we will discuss and clarify your goals. (“I just need to vent,” “I just don’t want to feel this way anymore,” or “I’m not sure” are valid starting points!)
My aim is to support you in achieving your goals and setting them clearly from the beginning will help us determine if we’re on the right track. Additionally, we may discuss practices for you to try in between sessions to support your progress.

Collaborative care can be an important part of effective treatment. Therapy is confidential, so if you wish for me to discuss your care with another provider or person, I will ask you to sign a release of information.

To protect confidentiality and your privacy, I will defer to your preference should we see each other in public. I’m happy to say a quick hello but won’t blow your cover if you pretend not to see me.
